Welcome to the first page of my blog on Voice Acting. [FIREWORKS] [CONFETTI]. I have had the utter joy of working on a huge range of indie audio drama shows made all over the world in the last four years, and of course am still learning. Still making mistakes, still having the best time ever acting for a variety of producers in some wonderful fun roles.
If you have listened to Amelia Project, Ancestry, Edict Zero FIS, A Scottish Podcast, Wynabego Warrior, Attention Hellmart Shoppers, 1994 podcast, Misadventure by Death, The Box, Subject Found, Diary of a Madman, Generation Z, You are Here, We Fix Space Junk and more, chances are, you might have heard me.
I am absolutely full on character actress material. I put the ham in the croquet monsieur of any role. Or some such better analogy. I have a huge array of accents to play with from all over Britain and the US and Europe and beyond and love a new vocal challenge - though Scottish accents seem to be the preferred route of choice for many!
I was podcasthost for The Audio Drama Production Podcast for over 18 months, and this autumn, started MADIVA Podcast - Modern Audio Drama Indie Voice Acting Podcast - for voice actors of indie audio drama.
The first series is a season of ten, looking at what you need to get into audio drama and elements of getting up and started - how to get reels done professionally, auditioning, casting processes, website design, where to look for work, what to expect and so on,
Next season I interview indie voice actors on elements of their work - finding a voice, creating a character, networking and building your brand, and so on.
I am am keen to share my experience so far, and be a part of and help nurture the wonderful community of creatives working in audio drama today.
Please do ping me questions or topics you would like me to explore on MADIVA Podcast. And, if you have listened, I would LOVE some more reviews and feedback. Thank you.
This month, Hostile Worlds Season one finale, We fix Space junk EP 7 and 1994 EP 3 all found a place to showcase my vocal wares, from shapeshifting alien to a version of me on a space adventure to a very stoned hippie lady....thus proving why I love the medium for its’ diversity of role.
Please find these shows and listen! They’re all wonderful and have casts of utter utter joy!
With this blog I intend to do in writing what MADIVA does verbally, and hopefully make it an interesting read for up and coming indie audiodrama VA’s as well as seasoned pros...
